Search "Kansas online casino real money" and you will see plenty of sites offering to take a purchase. None of them holds a Kansas licence, because Kansas does not issue one for online casino games. The reason is structural, and it is the same reason Kansas is one of the few states where the government, not a casino company, owns the casinos.
Why Kansas Has No Real-Money Online Casino
The Kansas Constitution allows a lottery only if it is "state-owned and operated" (Article 15, section 3c, added in 1986). Every expansion since has had to fit that rule. The 2007 Expanded Lottery Act gave the Kansas Lottery Commission ownership and operational control of four casinos, with private companies managing them under contract, and the 2022 sports betting law ran through the same Lottery-owned structure (Kansas Legislative Research Department).
No law has done the same for online slots or table games. BettingUSA reports that the state has not considered an online casino bill in recent sessions, and the Kansas Legislative Research Department's 2026 summary of authorised wagering covers sports only. Any future online casino would most likely need the same state-ownership arrangement, which would take new legislation.
What Kansas Does Allow Online: Sports Betting
Kansas authorised sports wagering in 2022 under House Substitute for Substitute for Senate Bill 84. The key terms, per the Legislative Research Department:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Who offers it? | The four state-owned casinos' managers, under contract with the Kansas Lottery |
| Online? | Yes, through websites and apps from up to three licensed platforms per casino |
| Minimum age | 21 |
| When did it start? | Bets opened on 1 September 2022 (KCTV5) |
| How long do the contracts run? | To August 2027 |
| Does it cover casino games? | No. Sports wagering only |
A 2025 budget provision stopped the Lottery from negotiating new or renewed sports wagering contracts through fiscal year 2026, so expect the rules for the post-2027 market to come up in a future session.
Kansas Casinos You Can Visit
Casino gaming in Kansas is in-person only, split between four state-owned properties and tribal casinos.
State-owned (Kansas Lottery), regulated by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission:
- Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway, Kansas City, Kansas. See our Hollywood Casino guide.
- Kansas Star Casino, Mulvane, south of Wichita. See our Kansas Star guide and casinos near Wichita.
- Kansas Crossing Casino and Hotel, Pittsburg. See our Kansas Crossing guide.
- Boot Hill Casino and Resort, Dodge City. See our Boot Hill guide.
The commission also regulates Gilley's historical horse racing hall in Park City and live racing at Eureka Downs.
Tribal casinos, overseen by the Kansas State Gaming Agency: Prairie Band Potawatomi's casino in Mayetta, Golden Eagle Casino (Kickapoo Tribe) in Horton, Sac and Fox Casino in Powhattan, and Casino White Cloud (Iowa Tribe) in White Cloud. The Wyandotte Nation also runs 7th Street Casino in Kansas City, Kansas.
Ameristar, Argosy and Harrah's are across the state line in Missouri, not in Kansas. Our statewide guide to casinos in Kansas maps every Kansas venue by region.
Casino-Style Games Online: Sweepstakes Casinos
Sweepstakes casinos look like online casinos but run on two currencies. Gold Coins are for play and have no prize value. Sweeps Coins are free, given at signup, through daily rewards, by mail-in request and as a bonus with optional Gold Coin packages, and they can be redeemed for prizes after an identity check. Nobody has to buy anything.
No Kansas statute or 2026 bill addresses this model by name; Lines.com reported in May 2026 that no Kansas legislation targets it. Our Kansas sweepstakes law guide lays out every source. Almost all of our Kansas tests ran in a web browser, so you do not need an app to start.
Sweeps Operators With Kansas Records
Two reviewers playing from Kansas logged 38 tests across 31 operators in 2026. These three each have two Kansas tests and a deep record across our other states.
| Operator | Kansas tests | Network tests | Free start |
|---|---|---|---|
| McLuck | 2 | 129 | 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC |
| Pulsz | 2 | 96 | 5,000 GC + 2 SC |
| WowVegas | 2 | 91 | 150,000 WOW Coins + 2 SC |
McLuck offers the broadest lobby in our Kansas notes: "slots, live casino, jackpot tables, cards, and arcade games." Its $29.99 first Gold Coin package comes with 120,000 GC, 60 free SC and a Bronze Wheel spin. One Kansas redemption arrived within two days. See our McLuck review.
Pulsz has the lowest redemption bar our Kansas testers found, a $10 prize redemption minimum, and a 7-day rewards streak. Its $49.99 welcome package comes with 1,000,000 GC and 75 free SC. See our Pulsz review.
WowVegas suits players who log in daily. Our Kansas tester called it "the kind of game that keeps pulling me back," though both redemptions took three days or more. See our WowVegas review.
Our three house brands, Chino, QuickMilly and Jumbo88, lead our Kansas sweepstakes casino rankings and are marked there as not yet tested in Kansas.
